Senior PHP Engineer (PHP)

Location: Ukraine — Fully Remote

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using PHP with CakePHP or Laravel.
• Build data-driven healthcare platform capabilities that process and visualize large data volumes.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-structured code using object-oriented design principles and best practices.
• Ensure code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and test-driven development practices.
• Work with SQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• Contribute to JavaScript and Vue.js frontend development when needed and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend development experience with PHP.
• Experience with CakePHP or Laravel and willingness to work with custom PHP code.
• Good knowledge of JavaScript and SQL, including database design fundamentals.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design principles, type safety, and reliable code.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and familiarity with TDD, or willingness to adopt it.
• Upper-Intermediate English level and availability to work remotely from Ukraine.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vue.js or another modern frontend framework.
