Zoox is developing the first ground-up, fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting ecosystem required to bring this technology to market for urban mobility-as-a-service.

What you will do

• Design and integrate deployment support for next-generation vehicle components and subsystems.
• Enhance core deployment frameworks, developer tools, instrumentation, and integrations with broader engineering systems.
• Drive systemic improvements in deployment speed, efficiency, and mission-critical reliability.
• Triage, debug, and resolve complex deployment failures across hardware and software boundaries.
• Partner with Firmware, QA, Systems, Manufacturing, and Fleet Operations teams to ensure seamless end-to-end execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional experience developing clean, scalable code in Python.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux within embedded or constrained environments.
• Familiarity with CAN or other embedded/automotive communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet, LIN).
• Demonstrated excellence in hardware/software triage, debugging, and root-cause analysis.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in systems-level programming languages like C or C++.
• Experience configuring or optimizing software build systems (e.g., Bazel, CMake).
• Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or end-of-line flashing environments.
