What you will do
- Lead visual conceptualization and production layout for research magazines, newsletters, and technical reports.
- Create professional graphics, covers, and cohesive layouts integrating text, photos, and charts.
- Develop supplemental art, diagrams, and logos to communicate complex concepts.
- Manage the full production lifecycle, including image selection, retouching, and sizing.
- Provide design support for social media, web content, posters, and exhibit materials.
- Ensure all deliverables meet Section 508 accessibility and Federal publishing standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of professional experience in print and electronic layout.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Acrobat.
- Ability to obtain a USDOT Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in McLean, VA.
Nice to have
- Experience with technical periodicals.
- Experience working within a Federal environment.
