What you will do

• Build and maintain a fast, reliable backend to support marketplace operations.
• Solve scaling challenges and own the overall platform architecture.
• Contribute actively to product discussions and technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with an international team across Portugal, Brazil, Latvia, and China.
• Apply AI tools to improve development speed, quality, and decision-making.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
• 3+ years of recent experience with Kotlin or another JVM language.
• Strong software architecture skills and expertise in relational DBMS (PostgreSQL schema design and migrations).
• Proven track record in customer-facing product development.
• Experience with AI tools and modern AI practices.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Experience as a tech lead or engineering team lead.
• AWS and Kubernetes experience.
• Observability mindset (metrics, logging).
• Experience with analytics workloads using Spark or Scala.
• Full-stack experience, specifically with React.
