What you will do

• Build, manage, and monitor efficient ETL/ELT pipelines consolidating data from AWS PostgreSQL to Snowflake.
• Audit SQL queries across production systems to diagnose bottlenecks and optimize performance.
• Oversee day-to-day health, security compliance, and scaling of PostgreSQL and Snowflake environments.
• Partner with software engineers to review database schemas and provide guidance on SQL best practices.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for database performance issues to ensure high availability.

Requirements

• Must be based in Latin America
• 5+ years of experience in a database-focused Data Engineering role.
• Deep hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in the AWS ecosystem (RDS or Aurora).
• Strong proficiency in Snowflake, including performance tuning and cost management.
• Exceptional skills in SQL profiling, execution plan analysis, and index optimization.
• Proven experience building data pipelines using dbt, Airflow, AWS Glue, or Python.
• Absolute proficiency with Git.

Nice to have

• Experience with CDC technologies like Debezium or AWS DMS.
• Knowledge of real-time streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks like TCPA, CTIA, and SOC 2.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog or Grafana.
