What you will do

• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL infrastructure, including clusters and installations.
• Optimize database performance and fault tolerance for high-load scenarios.
• Automate operations and environment provisioning (dev/staging/load) using IaC tools.
• Conduct cost optimization analysis comparing managed vs self-hosted solutions.
• Support existing MySQL and AWS managed services such as ElastiCache, MemoryDB, and RDS.
• Collaborate with product teams to resolve complex incidents and establish database best practices.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, tuning, and operations.
• Proven experience working with high-load systems and performance optimization.
• Experience with cloud environments and managed database solutions.
• Strong automation skills with IaC (SaltStack, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform), CI/CD, and Bash/Python scripting.
• Ability to take ownership of tasks in ambiguous environments.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with developers and infrastructure teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Redis and Kafka.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes stateful services.
• Experience migrating between managed and self-hosted solutions.
• Experience with load testing and comparative analysis of solutions.
