What you will do

• Manage the personal and professional development of approximately 12 Financial Crime Business Banking investigators.
• Provide technical coaching and advice on KYB, merchant due diligence, and card scheme compliance.
• Handle escalations and conduct quality control across the full merchant lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding.
• Analyze and drive improvement in team performance while maintaining service level adherence.
• Strengthen the control environment to minimize breaches and risk events across the acquiring portfolio.
• Conduct job interviews and contribute to hiring decisions for the investigators' team.

Requirements

• Must be based in the UK.
• Subject matter expertise in Merchant Acquiring or payment merchant services.
• Proven experience managing a team within Financial Crime in Business Banking.
• Deep knowledge of KYC/B, AML, and compliance within the payments industry or financial services.
• Understanding of current financial crime trends and acquiring typologies.
• Excellent written and verbal English.

Nice to have

• ICA International Advanced Certificate in AML or ACAMS qualification.
• Deep knowledge of the UK Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) regime and POCA.
• Experience managing employee relations cases.
• Experience taking underperforming teams to high performance.
• Proficiency in MacOS, Slack, and GSuite tools.
