What you will do

• Lead an independent research group at hirify.global AI’s Heidelberg Hub to pursue ambitious research in AI for biology.
• Create and execute an innovative research program adapting cutting-edge AI techniques to biological questions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary scientists across hirify.global units to integrate ML/AI with experimental biology.
• Develop methods for areas such as whole-cell models, protein function, regulatory networks, and spatial omics.
• Mentor and inspire a team of researchers, fostering an inclusive and intellectually stimulating environment.

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant field with an excellent research record in AI.
• Strong interest in applying AI to biology and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Potential to develop groundbreaking ideas and shape the future of the field.
• Proven leadership potential and dedication to mentoring a research team.
• Must be based in or be able to relocate to Heidelberg, Germany.
