What you will do

  • Research, design, and evaluate complex computer vision and decision-making algorithms leveraging machine learning.
  • Develop prototypes and experiments for new learning algorithms and prediction techniques.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to drive scalable, real-time implementations.
  • Work with hardware engineering on system development from prototyping to production level.
  • Represent the company in the academic community through publications and scientific presentations.
  • Iterate on system design and implementation with stakeholders across science and operations teams.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience publishing at major robotics and AI conferences (e.g., CVPR, NIPS, ICRA, RSS) or journals.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, or related programming languages.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing results with computer vision models and ML training pipelines.
  • Must be based in or have the right to work in Berlin, Germany.

Nice to have

  • PhD research experience specifically in robotic computer vision or motion planning/control.
  • Knowledge of sensors, real-time systems, embedded systems, or distributed systems.
  • Experience with interdisciplinary hardware, software, and algorithm co-design.
  • Demonstrated ability to productionize new technology from idea generation to implementation.
