What you will do

• Lead the design and operation of a production-grade container platform on bare metal using OpenShift Virtualization.
• Develop automation tooling in Go or Python to reduce manual toil and manage platform operations.
• Implement GitOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices for version-controlled and auditable configurations.
• Manage physical infrastructure including server provisioning, firmware lifecycles, and hardware configuration.
• Define multi-tenant isolation policies, resource quotas, and access controls.
• Build and maintain the observability stack, including SLOs, alerting, and structured post-incident reviews.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience owning production infrastructure or platform systems in complex environments.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or equivalent in on-premises/data center environments (managed cloud only is not sufficient).
• Proficiency in Go or Python for delivering operational software and automation.
• Depth in bare metal provisioning, firmware lifecycles, and hardware fault diagnosis.
• Experience with GitOps, IaC, and establishing SLOs and runbooks.
• Must be based in or able to work from Macquarie Park, NSW (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Experience migrating virtualized workloads from VMware to container-native platforms.
• Background in telco, carrier, or ISP environments (e.g., Cisco, Nokia, Juniper).
• Knowledge of SR-IOV, DPDK, or hardware offload for network performance.
