What you will do

• Design and build core software systems, services, and infrastructure for production and research environments.
• Write, review, and maintain high-quality production code in Python and/or C++.
• Define the software roadmap and technical direction in collaboration with leadership, AI, and hardware teams.
• Implement AI-native engineering workflows using coding agents and automation tools.
• Develop systems for large-scale data collection, processing, and integration with cloud-based AI pipelines.
• Integrate software with cameras, sensors, and lab instrumentation.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing and maintaining complex software systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++.
• Experience with system architecture, cloud infrastructure, and data pipelines.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in San Mateo, CA.

• Experience with AI/ML systems, computer vision, or image processing.
