Cloud Engineer (Linux & Automation)

TL;DR

Cloud Engineer (Linux & Automation): Administering and automating Linux-based infrastructure using Ansible and Terraform with an accent on IaC, VM lifecycle management, and system security. Focus on developing repeatable code-driven solutions, managing private cloud ecosystems (HPE Morpheus, VMware), and ensuring high availability within established SLAs.

Location: Remote (US), but must be able to pass CJIS clearance for the state of Florida; occasional travel for datacenter activities (less than 10%) is required.

What you will do

• Administer and troubleshoot Ubuntu Linux systems across physical and virtual environments.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for configuration management, OS patching, and application deployment.
• Write and manage Terraform configurations for infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Manage VM workloads within HPE Morpheus Enterprise and VMware ESXi, including provisioning and hypervisor troubleshooting.
• Maintain NetBox as the authoritative source of truth for IPAM, DCIM asset records, and network topology.
• Participate in change management processes and on-call rotations to support critical infrastructure.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience (Ubuntu).
• 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, specifically Ansible and Terraform.
• Hands-on familiarity with HPE Morpheus Enterprise or similar HVM/KVM platforms; VMware vCenter experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of NetBox for IPAM and DCIM management.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, and firewall rules.
• Ability to pass CJIS clearance for the state of Florida.

• Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC-1/LPIC-2) or RHCSA.
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux Automation with Ansible (RH294) certification.
• HashiCorp Terraform Associate (003 or 004) certification.
