Senior Engineer (Data Engineering)

Senior Engineer (Data Engineering): Designing and delivering core data engineering software for enterprise analytics with an accent on data warehouse/BI development, scalable data pipelines, and CI/CD-driven reliability. Focus on architecting heterogeneous data flows (OLTP/flat files to staging to OLAP), optimizing STAR-schema models, and providing technical leadership across engineering standards and vendor/POC evaluations.

Location: Based in and reports to hirify.global’s HQ in Minneapolis, MN; option to telecommute from a home office anywhere in the United States.

Salary: at least $157,466/year

What you will do

• Apply technical expertise to drive customer outcomes and independently deliver initiatives aligned with the software engineering strategy.
• Develop and maintain core data engineering capabilities, including data warehouse/BI solutions and resilient, scalable software.
• Design and architect data pipelines and transformations from OLTP/flat files through staging to OLAP environments.
• Promote CI/CD pipeline usage and assess technology to improve deployment, build, stability, scalability, and resilience.
• Define engineering standards, patterns, and reusable components for reporting and analytics; support team planning and decomposition.
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, trainings, interview participation, and vendor selection/POC collaboration.

Requirements

• Location/telecommute eligibility: Must be able to telecommute from a home office anywhere in the United States (role is based out of Minneapolis, MN).
• Bachelor’s (or foreign equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in data engineering/specialist/consultant roles.
• 5+ years developing and maintaining data warehouse and business intelligence using Informatica PowerCenter and Zena.
• 5+ years working with Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, and relational databases; designing data pipelines and client requirement gathering/specifications.
• 3+ years working with IICS and Snowflake.
• 2+ years working with Databricks.
