Data Engineer (Gamedev)

TL;DR

Data Engineer (Spark/Python): Designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines for the Bronze and Silver layers of a game development data platform with an accent on Spark-based processing and streaming. Focus on building ETL/ELT pipelines, evolving data lake/warehouse models, and implementing data quality monitoring.

Location: Remote (Worldwide) or onsite in Cyprus, Armenia, or Kazakhstan. Relocation support is available for these locations.

What you will do

• Design and develop batch and streaming data pipelines.
• Build and maintain data ingestion from internal and external sources.
• Develop and evolve data lake and data warehouse models.
• Optimize performance of Spark-based data processing jobs.
• Develop and maintain dbt models, data contracts, and observability checks.
• Collaborate with analytics, marketing, platform, and backend teams.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Solid production experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Spark/PySpark, especially in streaming scenarios.
• Understanding of distributed data processing and storage systems.
• Practical experience with Delta tables, Parquet, and S3.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar.
