Data Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Ingest and onboard datasets from internal systems, APIs, databases, files, and real-time feeds.
• Build and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
• Model and operationalize data to support analytics and operational applications in collaboration with domain experts.
• Implement data quality checks, observability, alerting, and lineage to ensure data trust.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions and clear data contracts.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering with production pipeline delivery.
• Proficiency in Python and PySpark for distributed data processing.
• Strong SQL skills for analytical and transformation logic.
• Experience with data modeling for both analytics and operational use cases.
• Solid grasp of data quality, testing, observability, and governance practices.
• Must be based in or able to work in Nicosia, Cyprus (Hybrid).

Nice to have

• Experience with Palantir Foundry (pipelines, Code Repos, Ontology).
• Deep understanding of Spark execution concepts (partitions, shuffles, caching).
• Exposure to Databricks or cloud-native compute.
• Experience with financial or enterprise operational data.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted ETL or streaming frameworks.
