Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Backend): Designing and developing key platform services for an earned wage access platform with an accent on JVM languages and event-driven architecture. What you will do

• Drive the design and implementation of new features and high-quality, maintainable code for platform services.
• Design and deliver robust microservices integrations via REST/gRPC APIs and messaging patterns (events/queues).
• Create and maintain test automation to enable continuous integration and development velocity.
• Collaborate and mentor other engineers through code, design, and architecture reviews.
• Work cross-functionally with data science, design, product, marketing, and analytics teams.
• Debug production issues across services infrastructure and multiple levels of the stack.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Proficiency in at least one JVM programming language (Java, Kotlin, or Scala).
• Experience with Spring or Spring Boot framework.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and streaming technologies (Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS, AWS Kinesis).
• Must have valid work authorization for Mexico; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Experience with NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Kubernetes and microservice architecture.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or LLMs.
