TL;DR
Senior Software Development Engineer (Backend): Designing and operating scalable backend services for ’s immersive media products with an accent on distributed systems, GraphQL API design, and high-performance data pipelines. Location: Must be based in Mexico, with occasional travel to Mexico City for office events.

What you will do
- Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs to power premium media experiences.
- Own and evolve GraphQL schemas to ensure consistent data delivery across web and mobile platforms.
- Build resilient data pipelines using event-driven architectures like Kafka.
- Take full ownership of production services, including on-call, monitoring, and incident response.
- Collaborate with AI/ML and product teams to integrate new media types and features.
- Champion engineering standards, conduct code reviews, and mentor team members.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building scalable backend services for consumer-facing products.
- Strong proficiency in Go, TypeScript, Python, or Java.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms like AWS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Must be based in Mexico with the ability to travel to Mexico City.
- Strong communication skills and ability to document complex technical decisions.
Nice to have
- Experience with observability tools (metrics, logs, traces) and maintaining runbooks.
- Background in platform engineering or cloud-native development.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional AI/ML teams.
