TL;DR

Engineer I (Sputter Equipment/Controls): Execute sputter equipment upgrades and own equipment modules/subsystems to ensure hardware readiness, qualification, and compliance with an accent on improving ultra-high vacuum (UHV) sputter machine performance (OEE, downtime, yield) through structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Focus on cross-functional issue resolution, NPI integration, and documenting solutions for sustaining operations.

What you will do

• Execute sputter equipment upgrades supporting new products and next-generation technologies.
• Own assigned equipment modules/subsystems, ensuring readiness, qualification, and compliance.
• Prepare equipment configuration for product conversion and support NPI integration into production.
• Monitor and improve equipment performance (OEE), addressing stability, yield, and productivity gaps.
• Perform structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis; drive timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Document solutions and best practices for knowledge transfer and sustaining operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with sputter equipment and vacuum technology.
• Experience with equipment upgrades, hardware evaluation, and qualification.
• Exposure to manufacturing ramp and high-volume production environments.
• Experience managing or supporting equipment upgrade or installation projects.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
