What you will do
- Lead device bring-up, debugging, and performance tuning across hardware, firmware, and software teams.
- Design and maintain drivers and Android services optimized for reliability and security in constrained environments.
- Define and own work streams for hardware bring-up, peripheral drivers, and power/performance management.
- Analyze bug reports and manage the end-to-end defect resolution process.
- Perform routine code reviews and collaborate with QA to ensure high-quality product development.
- Coordinate with global teams and external vendors to provide technical support and hardware bring-up.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering experience in device driver development, embedded systems, or operating systems.
- 2+ years of experience working with mobile or other connected devices.
- Proficiency in C/C++ or Kotlin/Java.
- Experience with inter-component communication protocols such as UART, GPIO, SPI, and I2C.
- Degree in CS, CE, EE, or equivalent practical experience.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese.
Nice to have
- Experience with ARM platforms and microcontrollers.
- Knowledge of EMV, cryptography, and key management.
- Experience with POS hardware and peripherals.
- Expertise in PCI technology and transaction processing retail standards.
