What you will do

• Report and write news stories and features with minimal editing under deadline.
• Develop and cover a tech policy beat by generating story ideas, developing sources, and conducting interviews.
• Research and write news stories and features for assigned publications.
• Attend outside meetings, hearings, and news events and report clearly and accurately for deadline.
• Use hirify.global publishing tools and other technology effectively with provided training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with coursework in English or journalism preferred.
• 3–5 years of journalism experience, including at least one year reporting on subject areas covered by assigned publications.
• Working knowledge of journalism principles and techniques.
• Knowledge of federal and state legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent proofreading skills.
