What you will do

• Generate and execute news story ideas in coordination with editors and the lead writer.
• Conduct research and interviews to gather pertinent information for high-profile sports beats.

• Implement SEO techniques to ensure maximum online reach and audience engagement.
• Collaborate with visual journalists to source appropriate photos, video, and graphics.
• Develop and maintain a network of sources to break exclusive news.

Requirements

• Proven ability to break news, produce enterprise stories, and provide digital-specific coverage.
• Required background covering football, preferably at the professional level.
• Strong reporting, writing, and multitasking skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
• Must be available for shift work and coverage outside of normal business hours.
