Principal Information Security Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Principal Information Security Engineer (Fintech): Providing technical leadership and oversight across the security engineering team to ensure high-standard project delivery and SLA compliance with an accent on technical escalation and design validation. Focus on bridging strategic objectives with operational outcomes, automating security controls, and mentoring the engineering team.

Location: Hybrid (Manchester or London). Must spend a minimum of 50% of working time per month in the office.

What you will do

• Act as the primary technical lead and escalation point for complex security challenges.
• Oversee day-to-day execution of security engineering to ensure project and BAU standards are met.
• Validate design concepts with the Architecture team to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
• Drive the technical delivery of the security tooling roadmap and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Security Operations to integrate security controls across the estate.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.

Requirements

• Significant experience implementing enterprise security platforms, specifically the Microsoft security stack.
• Expertise in PAM, IGA, SIEM, and Endpoint protection.
• Experience with diverse end-user compute environments (Windows, MacOS, Linux, mobile).
• Knowledge of ISO27001, NIST, and other security frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience in Information Security within financial services or e-commerce.
• CISSP certification attained or in progress.

Nice to have

• Experience with firewalls and cloud security solutions.
• Hands-on experience with automation and scripting.
