What you will do

• Configure and operate Microsoft Defender XDR and Purview for information protection and DLP.
• Maintain Sentinel analytics, hunting queries, and automated response playbooks using Logic Apps and PowerShell.
• Lead triage, containment, and recovery for security incidents in partnership with the Service Desk.
• Design and maintain M365 retention and sensitivity controls, including security for AI agents and Copilot.
• Manage data sovereignty, Right to be Forgotten requests, and immutable backup policies.
• Improve security posture and provide risk updates to technology leadership.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on production experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, and Purview.
• Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL) for threat hunting and dashboarding.
• Solid experience with Microsoft Entra ID, conditional access, and identity protection.
• Proven work with immutable backups and recovery testing for M365 and Azure.
• Working understanding of UK GDPR principles and data retention requirements.
• Ability to write concise runbooks and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep or Terraform).
• Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks, ISO 27001, and NCSC guidance.
• Knowledge of security considerations for AI agents and Copilot.
• Relevant certifications such as SC-200, SC-100, SC-400, AZ-500, or CIPT.
