Cyber Security Analyst

TL;DR

Cyber Security Analyst: Monitoring telemetry systems and responding to security threats within an internal Security Operations team with an accent on Microsoft Defender stack management and incident response. What you will do

• Monitor network, server, and endpoint telemetry systems to identify potential threats.
• Investigate security incidents and act as the primary point of contact during remediation.
• Manage and tune the Microsoft Defender security stack for optimal performance.
• Document and maintain security processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with the security team to analyze attacker Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
• Optimize existing security tooling to reduce risk without unnecessary procurement.

Requirements

• Must be a UK resident.
• Experience operating Microsoft Defender security tooling.
• Microsoft SC-200 certification required.
• Background in penetration testing or security operations with understanding of Windows AD/AAD environments.
• Ability to work alternating shift patterns to cover a 12-hour operational day.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to thrive as a solo contributor.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel and Zscaler products.
• Additional certifications such as SC-300, SC-400, SC-900, or offensive security certs like OSCP/eCPPT.
• Familiarity with EDR, CSPM, PAM, NGFW, and vulnerability management tools.
• Experience with platforms like HackTheBox or TryHackMe.
