What you will do

• Design and analyze spacecraft communication subsystem architectures for landers, rovers, and orbiters.
• Perform trade studies on frequency selection, modulation, coding, and redundancy concepts.
• Develop and maintain RF link budgets for spacecraft-to-ground and inter-system communication.
• Define technical requirements, operational concepts, and interface definitions.
• Coordinate communication subsystem activities across internal teams and external suppliers.
• Support integration, verification, validation, and mission operations preparation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Telecommunications Engineering.
• Experience in RF communication systems, satellite communications, or spacecraft subsystem engineering.
• Proficiency in performing communication link budget analysis.
• Familiarity with analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or STK.
• English: Business fluency required for non-Japanese candidates.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with lunar, deep-space, or small satellite missions.
• Knowledge of CCSDS standards and space communication protocols.
• Experience with S-band, X-band, Ka-band, or optical communication systems.
• Knowledge of MBSE methodologies and system engineering processes.
• Japanese language capability.
