What you will do

• Design, optimize, and maintain complex T-SQL stored procedures, functions, and views supporting production applications and APIs.
• Analyze query execution plans and implement indexing strategies to ensure consistent performance as data volumes grow.
• Manage database schema versioning and controlled deployments across development and production environments.
• Diagnose and remediate production database issues impacting availability, stability, or performance.
• Support database security, access controls, backup validation, and disaster recovery practices.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team on SQL Server and performance best practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in senior-level DBA and SQL development roles supporting mission-critical systems.
• Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+), including deep hands-on experience with T-SQL.
• Must have knowledge of HIPAA and HITRUST regulated data handling requirements.
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices for database schema deployment.
• Working knowledge of Azure data services such as Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory.
• Must be based in the US to comply with healthcare data regulations.

Nice to have

• Background working in healthcare technology or other regulated industries.
• Microsoft certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate.
• Experience with schema migration tools like Redgate Flyway.
• Exposure to ETL/ELT processes and tooling (Databricks, dbt, or SSIS).
