What you will do

• Design, build, and ship backend services, workflows, and integrations for clinical charting, scheduling, task management, and care coordination.
• Own features end to end: approach with product and clinical partners, implementation, testing, rollout, and production operations.
• Work primarily in a mature Ruby on Rails monolith alongside supporting services and internal tooling.
• Build and maintain integrations with clinical and operational systems, including the EHR.
• Deliver using small-batch continuous delivery practices (small PRs, feature flags, tight feedback loops) and ensure safe, frequent releases.
• Use agentic AI-native development tools (e.g., Claude Code) as part of design, build, test, and review while maintaining engineering rigor; write observable, well-tested code.

Requirements

• 5+ years building and operating production software, with meaningful backend and workflow-heavy experience.
• Strong backend stack proficiency; Ruby on Rails experience is a strong plus, and comfort ramping quickly in an established codebase is essential.
• Proven track record owning features end to end and making pragmatic architectural decisions.
• Strong delivery fundamentals: small-batch/continuous delivery, feature flags, automated testing, and operational excellence.
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure and observability (AWS and Datadog).
• Experience integrating with third-party systems and APIs; ability to build systems that operate safely within HIPAA and broader healthcare regulatory requirements.
