What you will do

• Develop the next generation of large-scale search and reporting services for the Search and Data Services team.
• Evolve systems to reliably scale 10x beyond today’s load, including building streaming data reports pipelines.
• Improve search relevancy, data indexing, and cost control for a high-throughput, event-driven architecture.
• Build new features and evolve data pipelines with a strong focus on scalability, testing, and maintainability.
• Own work across the development lifecycle: design/implementation decisions, testing strategies, backlog prioritization, and production monitoring.
• Collaborate via code reviews and architectural discussions; provide engineering support when issues escalate beyond support.

Requirements

• Backend engineering experience building scalable, maintainable, easy-to-read software (Java/Kotlin).
• Strong ownership across design, implementation, deployment, and production readiness (automation, reliability, resilience, monitoring, alerting, logging).
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in written and spoken English for effective collaboration in a fully remote environment.
• At least 4 hours of overlap with Central European working hours (US Eastern/Central time zones are typically the best fit).
• Must be authorized to work from the United States; no visa sponsorship.
