TL;DR
Conversation Designer (AI): Designing and optimizing enterprise-grade AI conversation experiences across voice, chat, and email with an accent on voice quality, interaction patterns, and NLU-to-LLM migration. Focus on building evaluation frameworks, rubrics, and partnering with engineering to drive platform improvements in mission-critical contexts.
Location: In-office role (Decagon is an in-office company).
Compensation: $160,000 – $200,000 + Equity.

What you will do
- Design and optimize AI conversation experiences across voice, chat, SMS, and email.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders on design best practices.
- Evaluate voice quality and interaction patterns to ensure natural and appropriate AI behavior.
- Build repeatable frameworks and rubrics for assessing conversation and voice performance.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering and Product to investigate quality gaps and drive improvements.
- Create documentation and playbooks to scale design expertise across the team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in voice experience design, conversation design, or product management.
- Hands-on experience with conversational AI, speech synthesis, or audio production.
- Experience migrating NLU systems to LLM and understanding RAG functionality.
- Experience building evaluation frameworks, rubrics, or QA processes.
- Strong communication skills across technical and business contexts.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving, in-office environment.
Nice to have
- Native or professional fluency in Spanish.
- Experience with TTS providers or speech synthesis tools.
- Hands-on experience with frontier AI tools in enterprise settings.
