Senior Accountant, Fixed Assets

TL;DR

Senior Accountant, Fixed Assets (SAP): Supporting fixed assets accounting and reporting by processing capital asset transactions and driving accurate month-end closing and construction journal entries with an accent on SAP Asset Management subledger control, reconciliations, and GAAP/audit readiness. Focus on analyzing balance sheet fluctuations, capitalized labor and interest calculations, and improving processes and controls for large-volume asset data.

What you will do

• Review, analyze, and process capital asset additions, disposals, transfers, and other asset transactions.
• Maintain and close the Asset Management SAP subledger and monitor aging balances for assets under construction.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Fixed Assets reports.
• Analyze and document income statement and balance sheet fluctuations and perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Calculate, allocate, and record capitalized labor and capitalized interest through internal processes.
• Support internal management reporting, external GAAP reporting, and external audit activities; perform special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–8 years of hands-on Fixed Assets Accounting experience with business owner accounting.
• Experience with SAP required.
• Ability to organize and analyze large volumes of data and identify automation opportunities.
• Proficiency with database tools and financial reporting packages.
• Clear communication skills, including explaining complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
