What you will do

• Build and nurture relationships with global veterinary and consumer pet media across print, digital, and broadcast platforms.
• Draft high-visibility PR materials, including press releases, executive bylines, key message architectures, and speeches.
• Lead weekly PR status meetings and serve as the primary day-to-day contact for PR efforts in key global markets.
• Collaborate with integrated agency teams (Strategy, Creative, Paid Media) to ensure cohesive global campaign execution.
• Assist in strategic planning, campaign brainstorming, and the localization of PR plans for international markets.
• Create comprehensive briefing books for client spokespeople, including reporter backgrounds and key messages.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work in Kansas City, MO (Hybrid).
• 2+ years of PR agency experience with a proven track record in media relations and client management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a relevant field.
• Familiarity with global markets and an understanding of how corporate communications adapt across regions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strategic mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in pet/companion animal health, pet-care, or health/science communications.
• Background or education in human health, nutrition, or agriculture.
