TL;DR
Software Engineer (Xplan): Developing, configuring, and enhancing IRESS Xplan solutions for business-critical financial planning with an accent on workflow automation, reporting, and platform integrations. Focus on managing the full development lifecycle, ensuring system reliability, and evolving platform capabilities within an agile environment.
Location: Must be based in the UK (Hybrid: 1-2 days per week in office).
Salary: £52,000–£90,000 per annum (depending on location).

What you will do
- Develop, configure, and enhance Xplan solutions to improve platform functionality.
- Manage the full lifecycle of Xplan changes from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Create and modify complex Xplan reports and templates.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data teams, and product stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.
- Provide technical support and resolve issues to ensure platform stability.
- Contribute to the definition of best practices for Xplan development.
Requirements
- Strong experience building, supporting, and maintaining IRESS Xplan solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Xplan configuration, workflows, and platform enhancements.
- Proficiency in developing solutions using Xmerge, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with reporting and data tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, or Snowflake.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Nice to have
- Experience in an Application Support or Application Engineering role within financial services.
- Background in agile technology environments.
