Cybersecurity Team Lead Consultant

What you will do

• Lead a six-person cybersecurity project team supporting a large government engagement.
• Direct security risk assessments across on-premise, AWS, Azure, DevOps, IoT, cloud, and third-party environments.
• Review vulnerability assessments, prioritize risks, and develop actionable mitigation strategies.
• Lead reviews of security policies, standards, procedures, architecture, application security, and secure SDLC integration.
• Oversee cloud security architecture reviews, IAM analysis, encryption practices, hybrid cloud governance, and System Security Acceptance Testing.
• Manage client communication, executive risk reporting, stakeholder engagement, and the coaching and development of junior consultants.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of cybersecurity consulting experience across risk assessment, application security, cloud security, compliance, security by design, and vulnerability management.
• Hands-on experience securing AWS, Azure, or GCP environments and using cloud-native security tools.
• Experience with STRIDE, PASTA, threat modeling, and security testing in CI/CD environments.
• Strong knowledge of NIST 800-series, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, MAS TRM, or comparable frameworks.
• Demonstrated project and people leadership, client management, stakeholder engagement, and executive communication skills.

Nice to have

• Professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, CCSP, or CISA.
• Experience leading multiple cybersecurity engagements simultaneously.
