Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Salary: $252,000–$308,000 + equity

What you will do

• Drive the design and implementation of new features, translating complex problems into elegant, maintainable code.
• Design and deliver robust microservice integrations using REST/gRPC APIs.
• Collaborate with and mentor senior engineers through code, design, and architecture reviews.
• Define technical direction, plan the product roadmap, and manage project timelines and risks.
• Utilize AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and ChatGPT to accelerate design and debugging.
• Lead cross-team engineering initiatives and participate in hiring and onboarding.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience delivering software in a collaborative environment.
• Expertise in trade-off analysis for distributed architectures and familiarity with Clean Architecture.
• Proficiency in C# or Kotlin.
• Experience with relational and document databases.
• Must be based in the US and able to work hybrid from the Mountain View HQ (2 days a week).
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
