What you will do

• Develop, validate, and maintain power system network models and methodologies.
• Design and test robust algorithms for power system analysis, optimization, and planning.
• Analyze operational and time-series data to identify improvements and troubleshoot issues.
• Act as a subject matter expert on UK electricity distribution networks within multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists to translate engineering methodologies into scalable solutions.
• Engage with customers to define effective technical solutions and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related numerate discipline.
• Strong understanding of electricity distribution networks, electrical load behavior, and time-series demand modeling.
• Experience performing power system studies such as load flow, fault level, switching, or transient analysis.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Must be based in or able to work from Lisburn, United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Power Systems or related field.
• Experience with power system modeling tools like PandaPower, PowerFactory, NEPLAN, or PSCAD.
• Knowledge of UK industry standards, Engineering Recommendations (ERECs), and the UK Distribution Code.
• Python programming experience and familiarity with signal processing techniques.
• Understanding of software development practices and version control systems like Git.
