What you will do

• Operate and engineer distributed systems at massive scale within the AWS fleet.
• Troubleshoot root causes of customer issues and investigate performance metrics to ensure service stability.
• Implement Operational Excellence best practices and automate manual processes to reduce operational overhead.
• Utilize Linux skills to innovate fixes, implement workarounds, and keep software up-to-date.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to manage capacity and efficiency of cloud services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Must be a UK national and eligible to obtain/maintain UK Government Security Clearance.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and Linux systems administration.
• Experience working in 24/7 production environments.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, or Bash/Shell.

Nice to have

• Experience with configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
• Background in site reliability engineering (SRE), DevOps, or security/network administration.
• Expertise in network capture and systems troubleshooting.
• Experience building scripts and automation tooling for large-scale computing environments.
