Tech Lead, Embedded Platform (Embedded Linux)

Location: Remote in Europe or hybrid from the Copenhagen office

What you will do

• Own the embedded platform layer, including the operating system, firmware, streaming stack, device releases, and hardware enablement.
• Take AirPlay and Miracast from beta to stable default protocols across the hirify.global product line.
• Build a predictable, automated firmware release process with staged rollouts, quality gates, and over-the-air updates.
• Lead the path from new silicon and boards through boot, networking, thermal management, conferencing, and QA-ready builds.
• Set the technical direction, run 1:1s, support engineer growth, and maintain a 60% hands-on and 40% leadership balance.
• Advance AI-assisted development workflows, tooling, and engineering practices across the team.

Requirements

• Experience setting technical direction through architecture decisions and reviews while growing engineers and leading a team.
• Strong embedded Linux experience across the kernel, BSP, userspace, and C/C++ on devices.
• Experience with wireless stacks, streaming protocols, drivers, firmware, or silicon-level debugging.
• Experience shipping software to field devices, including staged rollouts, over-the-air updates, and device testing.
• Experience bringing up new hardware or leading engineers through board bring-up, networking, thermal, and streaming challenges.
• Ability to use AI for coding, debugging, and prototyping and to guide effective AI-assisted development practices.
