Senior Data Engineer (Banking)

TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (AWS/Python): Designing and improving end-to-end data solutions for a banking platform with an accent on Data Mesh and Medallion architecture. What you will do

• Design and implement systems for data ingestion, processing, and storage within a Data Mesh platform across cloud and legacy DWH environments.
• Build and optimize AWS cloud and on-premises (Oracle DB) data architectures for performance and scalability.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to support regulatory, operational, and analytical banking needs.
• Modernize legacy data systems and manage migrations toward cloud platform architecture.
• Collaborate with analysts and software engineers to deliver high-quality data products.
• Participate in EOD processes and a one-week ROTA rotation for incident troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Proven experience with SQL and Python.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency with data pipeline tools such as Airflow or dbt.
• Working knowledge of Oracle DB, SAP IQ, SAP Data Services, and SAP Business Objects.
• Experience with Data Mesh and Medallion architecture.
• EU citizenship or a valid work permit.
• Fluent English (C1) for cross-team collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience in the banking or customer business domain.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with streaming platforms like Kafka, Spark, or Flink.
• Proficiency in Power BI or NoSQL databases.
• Java development experience.
