2027 Cybersecurity Operations Intern

Location: New York, New York, United States

Annual base pay: $85,000–$95,000, prorated for the internship period

Global multi-manager hedge fund investing across quantitative, tactical, fundamental equity, and discretionary macro and fixed-income strategies with proprietary technology, infrastructure, and risk analytics.

What you will do

• Support incident response and continuously review security alerts with external vendors.
• Hunt for previously undetected attacks and improve detection coverage and security posture.
• Analyze threat intelligence, track adversaries, and incorporate actionable intelligence into monitoring and detection activities.
• Monitor the internal and external attack surface, validate vulnerabilities, and prioritize remediation.
• Assess security risks associated with IT and security system changes, maintain control coverage, and implement preventive and detective measures.
• Develop and improve detection rules, response runbooks, SOAR workflows, and scripting-based automation.

Requirements

• Currently a junior pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Technology Risk, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity through internships, part-time work, extracurricular activities, or coursework.
• Strong creativity, analytical ability, organizational skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects.
• No prior finance experience is required.
