What you will do

• Define and drive the performance engineering strategy for cloud-native applications hosted on GCP.
• Analyze and optimize application performance across microservices, APIs, and high-volume transaction workflows.
• Design and execute load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing using tools like LoadRunner, JMeter, or Gatling.
• Lead and mentor a team of 4–5 Performance Engineers, establishing technical standards and best practices.
• Drive the integration of performance testing automation within CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and architecture teams to implement system-wide performance improvements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Performance Engineering or Application Performance Optimization.
• Expert-level experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), cloud observability, and monitoring.
• Strong understanding of distributed cloud-native architectures and containerized applications.
• Hands-on proficiency with performance testing tools (e.g., OpenText LoadRunner, Apache JMeter, Gatling).
• Proven experience leading and mentoring technical teams in high-availability environments.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or financial services industries.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Cloud Spanner.
• Familiarity with observability platforms like Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics, or Grafana.
• Experience with capacity planning and resiliency testing.
