Principal Program Manager (Radar/Defense)

Location: Onsite in East Syracuse, New York, United States. Domestic and international travel required up to 10–15% annually.

Compensation range: $165,700–$223,800 per year.

What you will do

• Lead program managers and their portfolios, with accountability for cost, schedule, technical performance, customer satisfaction, and profitable growth.
• Establish program strategy, budgets, execution plans, performance metrics, and EVM/EVMS reporting.
• Lead multidisciplinary programs covering the design, development, manufacturing, integration, installation, deployment, modernization, and sustainment of ground-based and airborne or air-traffic radar and Air Traffic Management systems.
• Drive business growth and capture strategy across defense, civil aviation, commercial radar, and Air Traffic Management markets.
• Manage relationships with the FAA, international air service organizations, military and civil aviation customers, and major industry primes.
• Oversee requirements, risk, integration, operational readiness, site acceptance, field deployment, regulatory compliance, infrastructure, construction, utilities, and subcontractor execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• At least 12 years of experience in surveillance systems, including radar, civil aviation, and FAA capability production programs or project management.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and transitioning product production from one location to another.
• Experience in Risk and Opportunity management.
• Experience with surveillance defense programs.
• Experience with federal contracting processes, including EVMS, ECP/RFV, FAR, OTAs, SAPs, CRADAs, and WPP.
• Excellent oral and written communication, organization, time management, attention to detail, and follow-up skills.
• Strong business acumen, self-motivation, enthusiasm, work ethic, willingness to learn, and effectiveness working with all organizational levels.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and must hold or be able to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or MBA.
• Experience with direct commercial and Foreign Military Sales.
• TS/SCI security clearance.
• Experience supporting civil aviation, FAA programs, international air service organizations, and associated civil infrastructure or construction activities.
