What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize hirify.globalsearch core storage and query engine components.
• Lead architectural evolution of storage engine parts and continuously identify performance bottlenecks in indexing layouts, serialization formats, and resource utilization.
• Drive cross-organizational initiatives to build industry-leading observability solutions.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed engineering team focused on logs and metrics capabilities.
• Improve operational and system quality by introducing clean coding standards and clarifying complex system behaviors.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME), triage and resolve issues, and review pull requests.

Requirements

• Experience building high-performance, scalable database/search/distributed systems with a strong focus on storage, indexing, query execution, and performance optimization.
• Strong core Java skills, including deep understanding of concurrency primitives, and ability to design and optimize data structures and algorithms.
• Experience implementing novel techniques to efficiently index, store, and query time-series or logs data.
• Experience with one or more data storage technologies such as hirify.globalsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Prometheus.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a distributed team using asynchronous, direct, and transparent communication.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Prior experience building with hirify.globalsearch.
• Experience with open source projects, source control workflows, and continuous integration.
• Experience designing, leading, and owning cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience in database/search engine/OS/cloud service development.
