What you will do

• Design, build, and operate backend software and distributed systems that power Snowflake Warehouses.
• Own medium-sized engineering projects independently from design through delivery.
• Develop and evolve capabilities related to warehouse features, billing, and metering.
• Optimize the reliability, scalability, and performance of warehouse systems in production.
• Manage the full software lifecycle, including technical design, deployment, and on-call participation.
• Partner with product managers and adjacent teams to deliver durable solutions to business problems.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 4 to 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and software design.
• Experience building and operating backend or distributed systems in production.
• Experience participating in on-call, production support, or incident response for live systems.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Menlo Park, CA.

Nice to have

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, data platforms, or large-scale backend services.
• Experience working on billing, metering, or control plane systems.
• Familiarity with performance-sensitive production environments.
