TL;DR

Policy Lead Business and Human Rights (Agriculture): Leading advocacy strategies and thought leadership on corporate accountability within agricultural value chains with an accent on human rights, living wages, and environmental due diligence. Focus on influencing private sector policies, building strategic partnerships, and driving systemic change in global food systems.

Location: Must be a national of an EU member state or hold a valid EU work/residence permit; role is based in The Hague, Netherlands with a hybrid work model (50% office attendance).

Salary: €3,861 – €5,942 gross per month (based on 36 hours/week).

What you will do

  • Develop and lead evidence-based policy propositions and advocacy strategies in collaboration with global partners.
  • Provide thought leadership on responsible business conduct and agricultural value chains.
  • Lead international private-sector campaigns focused on food and commodity value chains like cocoa, palm oil, or coffee.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with civil society, trade unions, companies, and policymakers.
  • Represent the organization as a public spokesperson in media, events, and stakeholder dialogues.
  • Oversee the production of policy briefs, research outputs, and media pieces.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in advocacy and campaigning at Dutch and global levels.
  • Must be a national of an EU member state or hold a valid EU work/residence permit.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Business and Human Rights policies, practices, and associated regulations.
  • Strong understanding of commodity value chains such as coffee, cocoa, or palm oil.
  • Fluent English and Dutch (written and spoken).
  • Ability and willingness to travel for project coordination and implementation.
