Salary: $6,949.92 - $9,992.50 CAD Monthly

What you will do
- Act as the lead analyst/programmer for bioinformatics data analysis and software development projects.
- Design and implement data management and relational database solutions for efficient storage and retrieval of research results.
- Develop and monitor effective quality control processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory outcomes.
- Conduct bioinformatic and statistical analysis and interpretation of DNA and RNA sequencing data.
- Collaborate with technical groups and stakeholders to coordinate system installation and ensure technical compatibility.
- Write and maintain comprehensive systems documentation, including user and technical manuals.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of related bioinformatics experience.
- Proficiency in Linux/UNIX operating systems and scripting in Python, R, and Bash.
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC), job schedulers (PBS Pro, SLURM), or cloud computing systems.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite at the Vancouver Campus.
Nice to have
- Experience with C/C++, Java, or RDBMS systems like MySQL or Oracle.
- Knowledge of continuous integration systems such as Bamboo, Jenkins, or OpenShift.
- Familiarity with web application configuration using PHP, Tomcat, and Apache.
- Experience in biological research areas such as human genetics, microbial ecology, or immunology.
- Knowledge of software architecture and design (e.g., UML).
