TL;DR
Construction Subject Matter Expert (AI): Validating and testing AI-generated plan review outputs to ensure alignment with jurisdictional standards and building codes with an accent on domain expertise in architectural, structural, and MEP reviews. Focus on diagnosing model errors, improving prompt engineering, and developing complex test scenarios for AI performance evaluation.
Location: Remote (Must be based in the US)

What you will do
- Test AI-generated plan review outputs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency against building codes.
- Analyze discrepancies to determine root causes, including model errors and incorrect prompts.
- Deliver structured, iterative feedback to support model refinement and prompt engineering.
- Produce weekly summaries of defect patterns, validation gaps, and actionable system improvements.
- Create and maintain plan review test scenarios, including edge-case and exception scenarios.
Requirements
- Professional credential such as Licensed Architect, Professional Engineer, or ICC/State Certified Plans Examiner.
- Must be based in the US.
- Deep understanding of building codes and jurisdictional requirements.
- Experience reviewing construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using electronic plan review platforms and permitting systems.
Nice to have
- Experience working with permitting agencies or municipal plan review.
- Exposure to AI/ML systems, automated review tools, or digital plan workflows.
- Familiarity with IBC, IRC, FBC, or other U.S. building codes.
- Experience in testing, QA, or validation workflows.
