What you will do

• Design, prototype, and iterate on AI encounters from initial concept through to live implementation.
• Develop encounter scenarios that optimize gameplay pacing and support player progression.
• Collaborate closely with AI Engineering, Level Design, Art, and Production teams.
• Balance AI behaviors leveraging playtest feedback, gameplay metrics, and player insights.
• Create comprehensive documentation for encounter systems and design guidelines.
• Mentor junior designers through collaborative feedback and design reviews.

Requirements

• Professional experience designing AI systems, encounters, or combat gameplay for shipped AAA titles.
• Proven track record of owning gameplay features from concept through release.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating encounter design, gameplay systems, or AI-focused work.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming tools used in modern game editors.
• Experience using both qualitative and quantitative feedback to balance gameplay.
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity at one of the specified office locations.

Nice to have

• Experience designing AI systems or encounters specifically for PvP or PvE gameplay.
