Unreal Rigging Supervisor (Real-Time) (Unreal Engine): Lead the technical and creative development of complex character, creature, and mechanical rigs in a real-time pipeline with an accent on Unreal Engine rigging, performance optimization, and real-time visualization workflows. Focus on supervising a realtime rigging team, building scalable rigging pipelines with Python/Maya/Unreal Control Rig, and solving bottlenecks by automating tasks and implementing advanced deformation techniques for live mocap and final pixel delivery.

Salary: $120,000–$175,000 CAD (Canada only)

What you will do
- Provide technical oversight and creative leadership for rigging and character workflows.
- Mentor and manage a team of Creature TDs, improving rig quality, deformation, and performance.
- Define rigging standards, naming conventions, and technical specifications in coordination with Real-Time and Technologies leadership.
- Architect and maintain rigging pipelines using Python, Maya, and Unreal Control Rig.
- Develop high-performance rigs for creatures, digital doubles, vehicles, and props for real-time rendering.
- Implement advanced deformation techniques (e.g., ML Deformer, Chaos Skin, Ziva RT) and create tools/Blueprints to automate pipeline tasks.
Requirements
- Extensive Unreal Engine production experience focused on rigging, animation, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience supervising or leading technical teams in VFX, visualization, or game development.
- Expert-level Maya and Python scripting.
- Strong mastery of Unreal Control Rig and Blueprints.
- Deep rigging fundamentals: anatomy, kinematics, skinning/deformations, and real-time rig architecture.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix/Windows and production tracking tools such as Shotgrid, Perforce, and Jira.
Nice to have
- Experience with Chaos Cloth/Skin, Unreal Grooming, and Machine Learning Deformer Graph.
- Experience with Ziva RT.
- Strong understanding of C++.
- Experience in in-camera VFX (ICVFX), live entertainment, or interactive/immersive production.
- Experience across both linear (film/TV) and non-linear (games) projects.
