Navigation Algorithms Engineer (GNSS)

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 per year, plus equity

Xona develops navigational intelligence and Pulsar, a low-Earth-orbit satellite infrastructure designed to provide real-time, centimeter-level positioning accuracy with strong power efficiency and protection.

What you will do

• Build tools to monitor the health, availability, and performance of the Pulsar constellation and GNSS signals in real time.
• Collaborate on and validate Precise Point Positioning (PPP) algorithms and other estimation pipelines across the navigation stack.
• Develop early-stage navigation prototypes into core components of the production ground software pipeline.
• Work closely with the navigation engineering team on satellite navigation algorithms and estimation systems.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, geomatics, applied mathematics, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in statistics and estimation theory, including least squares or Kalman filtering.
• Programming experience with both C++ and Python.
• Internship, academic research, or project experience in navigation, estimation, or signal processing is accepted in place of industry experience.
• For the U.S. role, applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Nice to have

• Exposure to PPP algorithms or implementations.
• Knowledge of GNSS receiver mechanics or the GNSS signal-processing chain.
• Familiarity with GNSS data formats such as RINEX, SP3, or RTCM.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics, reference frames, and time systems.
