Onboard Software Engineer - Hyperdrive (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Toulouse, Occitanie, France. Relocation assistance to Toulouse may be available.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and refine reliable onboard software features from concept through delivery.
• Build core capabilities for the Hyperdrive platform, including mission logic, housekeeping, events, automated fault detection and recovery, and lifecycle management.
• Review code, contribute to architecture proposals, and improve development processes and design standards.
• Develop unit tests and maintain code quality across the codebase.
• Coordinate software releases and adoption with downstream teams.
• Participate in operating the on-orbit satellite fleet.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Professional experience with C/C++ including C++11 or newer, and Python.
• Experience with Git, continuous integration tools such as GitLab-CI or Jenkins, and build systems such as Make or CMake.
• Knowledge of library management, ABI/API version control, and distributed architecture.
• Familiarity with UDP, TCP/IP, POSIX standards, and multithreaded application development.
• Ability to work on-site in Toulouse, France.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go or Rust.
• Embedded Linux experience with Yocto, device trees, systemd, and Linux on ARM platforms.
• Experience with pytest, Googletest, Unity, or other unit test frameworks.
• Experience with gRPC, ZMQ/NATS, Docker, K3S, or systemd-nspawn.
